The Mitsubishi MELSEC iQ-F FX5U Series Programmable Logic Controller is a high-performing PLC with high-speed processing, expandability, and advanced positioning capabilities. Inbuilt RS-485(FX5U/FX5UC models), and Ethernet ports offer maximum flexibility in communication methods. This high-speed system bus communication operates approximately 150 times faster when compared with the earlier FX3U Series. Control for up to 16 Mitsubishi inverters is possible with dedicated inverter communication instructions with this model, with MODBUS communication supporting connection up to 32 devices including other PLCs, sensors and temperature controllers. The CPU itself houses up to 96 I/O points depending on the model, with up to 512 controllable points with CC-Link. Program capacity goes as high as 64,000 steps, with an inbuilt SD memory card slot for expanded storage and data transport methods. The FX5U Series features a 12-bit 2-channel analog input, and 1-channel analog output.

The FX5UC variant offers the powerful functionality of the FX5U in a compact form, compatible with both FX5 and FX3 extension modules. This slim-fit design makes it ideal for space-conscious and modular applications where cabinet space is limited. These controllers provide a comprehensive solution for demanding industrial networking, analog, and positioning tasks.

The FX5UJ variant is a mid-range performance model that balances excellent performance with space and costs. This model features a downsized 48k step program capacity, with a control scale max of 256 points. The instruction execution speed is 34ns, roughly twice that of the FX3U Series. Units feature a mini-B USB connector in addition to the Ethernet and SD memory card slot. Additional functions such as positioning and high-speed counters are inbuilt to condense operation and streamline use.
