Description

The Mitsubishi FREQROL-A800 Series Variable Frequency Drive offers precise motor control for a wide range of industrial applications, with the ability to configure an inverter to meet the niche needs of various automation applications. This series offers a speed response of 50Hz, with a speed range of 200:1 open loop (1500:1 closed loop). The FR-A800 Series is built to support high speed motors up to 590Hz, including the new generation of IPM motor models. These drives feature STO functionality for SIL2/PLd category emergency stops, while conformal coated boards come standard for enhanced durability in harsh environments.

The FR-A800 Series drive features integrated 100Mbps Ethernet communications as standard, enabling seamless connection to MODBUS TCP/IP and CC-Link IE Field Basic networks without the need for additional option cards. The built-in web server (FR-A800-E model) provides remote monitoring and parameter adjustment capabilities, while automatic IP address detection simplifies system setup using FR-Configurator2 software. USB stick compatibility allows for quick parameter adjustments and diagnostic data transfer.

The FR-A800 Series also feature connectivity with the GOT 2000 series HMIs, and an enhanced internal PLC based on Mitsubishi's L Series processor with Function Block programming support. The multiple protocol capability and drive-to-drive communications system offer flexible integration. Sectional drives are available with expanded amperage and horsepower configurations when used with a FR-CC2 rectifier stage, contact a Motion World engineer for further details.

The FR-A800 Series includes sub-families of products with additional features to meet more specific application needs:

  • The FR-A800-GF: inbuilt CC-Link IE Field Network communication functionality.
  • The FR-A800 Plus:
    • Crane control: anti-sway control; short time start-up; dedicated sequencing system; falling load detection; hoist and travel control.
    • Roll-to-roll: diameter calculation; dedicated PI control system; adjustment for load inertia; material breakage detection between rolls; tapered change in tension function; SND rating for higher operating currents.
    • Automated warehouse: full-closed control; anti-sway function; S-curve acceleration and deceleration to prevent load shifting during transport; dual feedback control; parameterization of target position, motor speed, acceleration/deceleration time.
  • The FR-A800-LC: liquid cooling for applications where heat is more difficult or expensive to dissipate via forced air-cooling such as in the mining industry. Inbuilt EMC filter.
