Description

The SICK STL/ETL70 Series Encoder is an advanced motor feedback system engineered for precision, speed, and high stiffness in linear direct drive applications. Utilizing magnetic principle technology with non-contact measurement, the system features integrated sensor and analysis technology, ultra-resolution of 0.448µm for interpolation of sine/cosine signals with 12-bit capability, or 1 µm standard resolution. With measuring lengths up to 16.384 meters and high traversing speeds up to 10m/s, the system offers absolute position detection with a reading distance to the magnetic tape of up to 0.8mm. Available with HIPERFACE DSL interface, the ETL70 Series supports one-cable technology, while the STL70 Series features the HIPERFACE interface, providing flexible integration through universal M12 8-pin or 4-pin male connectors.

Designed for maximum operational efficiency and reliability, the STL/ETL70 requires no reference run, enabling immediate operation after power-up with status LED indication for optimal motor feedback system positioning. The rotatable M12 male connector allows installation in virtually any position for enhanced mounting flexibility, while the non-contact measurement principle ensures maintenance-free operation with no machine downtimes due to wear and tear. Consistent performance is maintained in harsh environments with dust, contamination, and moisture, while the electronic type label simplifies system identification. The STL70-2 is certified according to SIL2 and PL d for HIPERFACE interface, enable seamless integration into safe drive systems.
