The SICK KH53 Series Encoder is a non-contact linear product designed for absolute position measurement across distances up to 1,700 meters with high precision and reliability. This encoder consists of a read head that scans a series of measuring elements (permanent magnets) positioned along the measurement path at 25mm or 55mm intervals. With a system resolution of 0.1mm and high reproducibility of 0.3mm/1mm, the KH53 Series delivers accurate absolute positioning without requiring reference runs, enabling immediate operation after installation. Capable of handling traversing speeds up to 6.6m/s and able to  reliably operate in the harsh ambient conditions involving dirt, dust, fog, shock, and vibration, this maintenance-free system ensures long service life and wear-free operation ideal for cranes, storage systems, conveyor systems, and automated guided vehicles.

Designed for maximum operational efficiency and flexibility, the KH53 Series offers SSI and PROFIBUS DP communication interfaces depending on the configuration selected, with versatile connection options including M23 12-pin male connector, 12-wire cable, and 3x M12 male connectors. The durable design and range of flexibility in application-specific configuration ensures reduced downtime and enhanced productivity in demanding industrial applications.
