Description
The SICK MWS120 Series Encoder is a precision measurement system designed for reliable detection of linear movements optimized for flexibility and ease of maintenance. Featuring a spring travel of ±10mm with manually adjustable contact pressure from 0-24N, this encoder compensates movements of the measurement surface while ensuring gentle contact. Available with measuring wheel circumferences of 200mm, 300mm, and 500mm, the system offers diverse surface options including smooth polyurethane, knurled polyurethane, O-ring NBR70, studded polyurethane, cross knurled aluminum, and smooth plastic depending on type. Units support an operating temperature range of -30 to 80°C. The compact axle spacing of just 120mm allows for easy integration into space-constrained applications.
Designed for maximum versatility and integration capability, the MWS120 Series offers extensive communication interface options including Incremental (TTL/HTL), SSI, CANopen, IO-Link, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET. IO-Link V1.1 and CoE support depending on configuration. The encoder provides flexible connectivity through multiple connection options including M23 and M12 male connectors, cable connections, and female M12 connectors. Programmable features enable application-specific adaptations, while the universal supply voltage of 4.5 to 32V ensures compatibility with various industrial automation systems.
